The cadets are affiliated to CBSE school/junior college facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where they study XI and XII class in the Science stream which includes the following subjects:-
A special coaching for the subjects of UPSC (NDA/NA) entrance examination is imported to the cadets by an experienced faculty before and after the college hours. Emphasis is also laid on improving their power of expression in English.
The cadets are given practice in self expression by arranging Lectures, Debates, Quiz Competitions, Group Discussions and Outdoor Excursions. These activities develop their self confidence and bring out the hidden talents.
The curriculum is so structured that cadets are simultaneously prepared to face the SSB Interview.
The minimum educational qualification for admission to NDA is XII standard. Each cadet gets minimum of two chances to appear in the UPSC (NDA) entrance examination while he is at SPI studying in 12th, in September and after 12th in April. Special SSB capsule is conducted for UPSC written passed cadets by domain Specialist officers and an orientation capsule is imparted to other cadets.
The aim is to ensure that cadets are in good physical condition to undertake the rigorous training at NDA
Discipline: Cadets are expected to follow all orders and instructions meticulously.
Motivation and Orientation to the Armed Forces: Motivation is of utmost importance. The cadets are given exposure to life in the Armed Forces through a series of lectures, training films and visits to various Defence establishments.
Development of Leadership Qualities: The cadets are introduced to various aspects of leadership, by participation in the routine activities of the institute.
Communication & Allied Skills: It is mandatory for all cadets to communicate in English at all times.
Emphasis is laid on extempore speech and group discussions.
